During the first quarter of 2013 the average salary has decreased by 3.1% to 778 BGN as compared to the fourth quarter of 2012, according to preliminary NSI data. Compared to the same period in 2012, the average monthly salary in the first quarter of 2013 has increased by 5.8% in the public sector, and by 3.9% in the private sector respectively. At the same time, the number of employees under labor and civil service contract has increased - with 10 500, or by 0.5% as compared to December 2012, thus reaching 2.23 mln people. At the end of March 2013, the number of employees under labor and civil service contract has decreased with 24 900, or by 1.1% as compared to the same period in 2012.
