According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of March 2012 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 27.9 thousands or 1.3% as compared to the end of December 2011 and reached 2.10 million.

Data from the National Statistical Institute shows that prices in Bulgaria have remained relatively stable during October. The inflation for the same month was only 0.6%. Nonetheless, consumer prices have increased by 9.5% since the beginning of 2007. According to the main budget framework for 2007 of the Bulgarian government, inflation was supposed to be slightly above 4%.
