According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of March 2012 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 27.9 thousands or 1.3% as compared to the end of December 2011 and reached 2.10 million.

Preliminary data of NSI for the Third Quarter of 2011 indicated that the total hourly labour cost rose by 7.2% compared to the Third Quarter of 2010.

The index of consumer prices for June 2007, in comparison to May 2007 is 99.6. Hence, National Statistical Institute data reports 0.4% deflation in June. The inflation since the beginning of 2007 is 2%, while its increase in comparison to June 2006 is 5.6 points.

June has brought increases in the prices of:

- Consumer goods (0.1%)

- Eating out (0.3%)

- Services (0.2%)
