Private sector salaries to rise 13%
Date: 04-July-2007

12.9% is the recommended pay rise in the private sector for 2007, upon which trade unions and employers agreed on 3 July. The business community agreed to higher pay rise in a trade off for the support of the trade unions for a cut in the social security contribution rate. If a 3% cut is achieved by 1 October, employers promised to add 2% of it to the index of increase. Budget-subsidised monthly salaries were revised upwards by 10% from 1 July.

The unprecedented agreement was negotiated by the two biggest trade union amalgamations, Podkrepa and CITUB, and local business representative organisations.
