Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, First Quarter of 2012

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of March 2012 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 27.9 thousands or 1.3% as compared to the end of December 2011 and reached 2.10 million.
Quarterly Labour Cost Index, Third Quarter of 2011

Preliminary data of NSI for the Third Quarter of 2011 indicated that the total hourly labour cost rose by 7.2% compared to the Third Quarter of 2010.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in December 2011

National Statistical Institute data reports that the consumer price index (CPI) in December 2011 compared to November 2011 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%.
10.4% unemployed in December 2011

Every labour contract to contain ‘length of service’ annex

By 1st July 2007, all employees in Bulgaria should have signed an annex to their labour contracts, containing the new amendment for professional length of service. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy warns that in cases where the employer fails to present the document, it will be considered as a violation of the legal labour rights.  The requirement is regulated by the Bulgarian Labour Code, according to which, every additional compensation, made on regular basis, should be included in an individual labour contract.
